North Mahaska FFA honors

Ryan Augustine earned the highest award in State FFA as he was named the Star State FFA Chapter Farmer.
Augustine earned this award from his home Supervised Agricultural Experience with beef, crop production and mechanics, as well as his FFA leadership skills. Augustine was also named as a State FFA Academic Achievement Award winner for his high school grade point average.
Augustine earned a Gold Rating in the State FFA Public Speaking Career Development Event and was a second place Gold Award Winner in the State FFA Beef Proficiency Award. Augustine capped the 80th State FFA Leadership Conference in Ames by being elected as the State FFA Vice President from the southeast district. This places him on the State FFA team for 2008-2009.
Shannon Brooks received her Iowa FFA Degree during the ceremonies held April 15. Brooks was also named as a State FFA Academic Achievement winner and earned a second place Gold Award in Equine Science Proficiency Area.
Cierra Rozendaal earned a Silver Award in the FFA Greenhand Test CDE.
Clayton Hester earned a Bronze Award in the FFA Diversified Livestock Production Proficiency Area and also played in the State FFA Band during the two-day conference.
Tiffany Houdeshedt performed with the State FFA Chorus.
Cole Van Genderen, Alexis Hanselman and Abbie Wanders shared the services as official FFA Delegates to the convention.
Jordan Drost served as a representative of the North Mahaska FFA in New Sharon.
The National FFA Organization also named the North Mahaska FFA a Superior FFA Chapter for the 37th year.
