MCSC hosted Centerville, traveled to Colfax for recent games



OSKALOOSA

On Saturday, Oct. 11, the Mahaska County Soccer Club hosted Centerville at the Lacey Recreation Complex.

MCSC’s U10 boys team, coached by Bryan Kime and Zack Cox, beat Centerville by a score of 15–4. KJ McCrea had five goals, Jacob Kime three goals, Jacob Huedepohl had three goals and two assists, Isaac Parks had two goals, Alex Fuller and Paul Ginavenboth had one goal. Goalkeeper Noah Baarda had four saves and Jacob Kime had two saves on the day.

The U10 girls team, coached by Reg Randau, played Centerville with Goalies Aubrey Miller and Sydney McGlothlen getting one save each. Oskaloosa had a total of 21 shots on goal. With Sydney McGlothlen and McKenna Rieckhoff having two shots each, Claire Fiechtner and Kamryn Beers having three shots each, and Lexi Randau and Aubrey Miller finishing with five shots each. Katrina Elliot and Brynn Shaull each contributed with great defense.

Casey Burg’s U12 boys team beat Centerville by a score of 13–2. Bradly Ware had four goals, Rogan Skutca had two goals and two assists, Jacob Dorothy had one goal, Owen Grubb, Brady DeJong and Ethan farner all had one goal and one assist and Colton Berg had two goals.

Jameson Kautzman and Steve Heaton’s U12 boys team tied Centerville’s coed team 22. Overall there were 12 shots on goal with Lake Heaton and Sam Adams each scoring for Oskaloosa. Goalie Hunter Kelderman had two saves.

The U14 coed team, coached by Wilhelm Hartl, lost to Centerville 3-0. In the first half, Oskaloosa was ableto keep the strong Centerville team from scoring. Oskaloosa never gave up and played with great team spirit and outstanding ball pass combinations. But in the end, the Centerville team earned the win.

On Sunday, Oct. 12, the U8 traveling team, coached by Zac Cox, Bryan Kime and Wilhelm Hartl, won their game 15–2  in Colfax. Aaron Blom led Oskaloosa with five goals, followed by Nathan De Bruin with four goals, Kadin Gerard with three goals, Joshua Hartl with two goals, and Liam Skutca with one goal.

All teams return to action on Saturday against Washington at the Lacey Recreation Complex. These will be the last regular season games for MCSC. The end of season league tournament will be Oc. 25 in Fairfield.
