Second row from the top: unknown, unknown, unknown, Irving Johnson, Dr. Merrill, unknown, unknown, unknown, Hazen Pettit, Art Spurgin. Third row from the top: unknown, unknown, I.W. Each club, organization, lodge, society and union tended to have a purpose of helping other people or in promoting civic causes in the community along with their own companionship goals. Those of you who might know some of these men are aware of the additional, individual good they did for our community. Our foremothers and forefathers of Mahaska County gave so much to today’s generation.
