— Jeanette Ver Steegh will celebrate her 90th birthday on Sunday, May 4, with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at White Oak Estates, 914 12th St., Oskaloosa.
Her family, Vivian Ver Steegh, Dick and Shirley Ver Steegh, Margie Ver Steegh, Andy and Lois Van Utrecht, and Phil and Phyllis Van Utrecht, will host the celebration. She also has 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Jeanette was born on May 4, 1918, near Oskaloosa to Dick and Jennie Van Ommen. She graduated from Pella High School and taught country school until her marriage to Floyd Ver Steegh on March 21, 1940. They were married 60 years before his death on June 2, 2000.
