Blood center receives local donations

The Southeast Iowa Blood Center is teaming up with Cargill Meat Solutions for a blood drive on Thursday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Training Center at 600 S. Iowa Ave., Ottumwa.
Contact Andrea Graves in HR at 683-4707 to schedule an appointment.
Donors who last gave blood on or before March 20 are eligible.

The Southeast Iowa Blood Center mobile unit drew 71 units of blood on April 23 at the Oskaloosa High School.
New donors include Kille Anderson, Gabrielle Brehm, Kyle Brown, Dena Burmeister, Andrew Chamra, Amanda Christenson, Symphony Contreras, Lake Crookham, Westley Crowe, Jessica Cubbage, Mary Downey, Belinda Edgington, Patricia Erkenbrack, Jonathan Eveland, Shayla Francis, Daniel Gleason, Tiffany Hershey, Clark Holthaus, Joshua Jemison, Rolland Johnson, Ashley Kinkade, Shannon Koski, Brieann Lee, Austin Lourens, Krisstara McBride, Brandie McCann, Taner McClure, Alex McGlothlen, Ashley Nikkel, Molly Nobiling, Victoria Norton, Alfred Paulson, Ashley Payne, Jonathan Peden, Stephanie Phillips, Jaime Rivera, Taylor Schelker, Elizabeth Sease, Jennifer Sheets, Emily Slagter, Amber Small, Tye Sparks, Ashley VanderMeiden, Brooke Veenstra, Chad Vink, Avery Whitis and Jordan Wood.
Michael Striegel reached the seven gallon plateau.
You can donate blood every eight weeks. One pint of blood can help save the lives of up to three patients. One out of every five people who enter the hospital will need blood products.

The Southeast Iowa Blood Center mobile unit drew 12 units of blood on April 25 at MidWestOne Bank in Oskaloosa.
Tiffany Roozeboom and Lorraine Sinnott reached the one gallon plateau. Thomas Little reached the seven gallon plateau.

The Southeast Iowa Blood Center mobile unit drew 31 units of blood on April 25 at Mahaska Health Partnership.
James Anderson reached the two-gallon donation plateau.
