Herald photo by Michael Schaffer/Saturday in Oskaloosa falling rain turned into ice upon contact and froze to trees, vehicles and power lines. As the day turned into night, the precipitation turned into wet, heavy snow. As the ice accumulated, trees throughout the city were unable to withstand the weight and came crashing to the ground.
