Herald photo by Michael Schaffer The Daniel Nelson house and barn, also known as Nelson Pioneer Farm, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The historic significance of the farm is event, architecture and engineering. The architect and or builder or engineer is unknown. No architectural style is listed with the Registry and the farm’s area of significance is architecture, engineering, exploration and/or settlement. Its period of significance is from 1850 to 1874. The farm is currently privately owned and its historic function is agriculture and/or subsistence and domestic. Its historic sub-function is secondary structure, single dwelling and storage.
