Schmett, King at Smokey Row Saturday

Republican 3rd District Congressional candidate Kim Schmett and Republican 5th District Congressman Steve King will visit Oskaloosa Saturday morning at Smokey Row.
The Republicans will appear at 8 a.m. at the coffee house on the city square for a conversation with local residents.
Schmett will run against the winner of the Democratic primary that pits challenger Ed Fallon against incumbent Congressman Leonard Boswell.
Schmett is the executive director of the state association for children’s homes and shelters. He was a member of Gov. Terry Branstad’s cabinet, serving as the director of the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, and served as chief of staff for former Congressman Greg Ganske. He also was Polk County Republican chairman. Schmett also is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
