Windows display antiques
A prelude to this weekend's Nelson Pioneer Farm's Fall Festival

OSKALOOSA

Several businesses downtown decorated their storefront windows with antiques to celebrate and promote Nelson Pioneer Farm’s Fall Festival. Marjie Rinehart, owner of Marjies Menageries at 121 High Ave. West, said she found some antiques and some old stuff for her display. Debbie Sedrel, owner of Debbie’s Merle Norman at 119 S. Market St., said the antique calculator came from her grandmother and the shaving cream cup and brush came from her grandfather. Spearheading the window display effort was Vicki Wright, who said each business with a display would receive two tickets to the festival. “What we’re trying to do is make a bridge between the pioneer festival and the downtown, like it used to be,” Wright said. “There used to be things going on downtown.” Also participating with a window display is Wood N Stuff in Penn Central Mall.
