We almost had a tie for last week’s Question of the Week: Will you use curbside recycling?
Fifteen — 51.72 percent — answered YES while 14 — 48.28 percent — said NO.
The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.
This week’s Question of the Week deals with the tax rebate checks President Bush hopes will stimulate the economy.
The economic stimulus checks will be sent to taxpayers soon. The checks will either be sent via direct deposit or by paper check in the mail. The checks will be issued according to the last two digits of a person’s Social Security number.
The people who have direct deposit will receive their checks first. People with SSNs ending in 00 to 20 will get their checks May 2; those with numbers ending in 21 through 75, May 9; and those with numbers ending in 76 through 99, May 16. People who will have their checks mailed to them will have them mailed between May 16 and July 11. Those with numbers ending with 00 through 09 will be mailed May 16; those numbers ending with 10 through 18, May 23; numbers ending with 19-25, May 30; numbers ending with 26-38, June 6; numbers ending with 39-51, June 13; numbers 52-63, June 20; numbers 64-75, June 27; numbers 76-87, July 4; and numbers 88-99, July 11.
Now that the checks will be arriving soon, what will you do with them?
This week’s Question of the Week: What will you do with the economic stimulus check? Spend it or save it.
People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
