Question of the Week: Will Miley Cyrus become the next Britney Spears?

OSKALOOSA

Most of the people who answered this past week’s Question of the Week: Will high gas prices force you to cancel vacation plans? said they will be staying close to home.

Twenty-eight — 70.00 percent — answered YES while 12 — 30.00 percent — answered NO.

The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.

This week’s Question deals with the controversy over the recent Miley Cyrus photo shoot.

Cyrus, 15, who has a wholesome image as Hannah Montana, recently did a photo shoot for Vanity Fair where a racy photo was shot of her clutching a satin bed sheet over her apparently naked torso while looking over her right shoulder at the camera.

Annie Liebovitz shot the photo with Cyrus’ parents on the set. They all thought the photo was “artistic,” that is until the photo was published. Now, Cyrus had to backpedal and say that she was “embarrassed” by the print.

Is this the beginning of the end of another pop icon? Cyrus/Hannah Montana has become a role model for many pre-teen girls. But, will her career spiral downward out of control like another pop icon — Britney Spears?

What do you think?

This week’s Question of the Week: Will Miley Cyrus become the next Britney Spears? YES, NO, DON’T CARE.

People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
