A majority of those who answered this past week’s Question of the Week: Is Sarah Palin an asset or liability to McCain’s campaign? said ASSET.
Twenty-one — 56.76 percent — answered ASSET while 16 — 43.24 percent — said LIABILITY.
The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.
This week’s Question deals with the biggest football weekend in the state of Iowa — the Iowa/Iowa State game — set for Sept. 13 at Kinnick Stadium.
This should be a good game as both Herky and Cy are on the rebound.
Gene Chizik’s Cyclones devastated South Dakota State in their season opener and took care of business with Kent State a week later.
Kirk Ferentz’s Hawkeyes annihilated Maine to start the season and then took Florida International to the woodshed as a follow-up.
While none of those opponents are powerhouses, it’s good to see teams from the state of Iowa dominating their foes. We haven’t seen much of that in the past couple of years.
Now, the Hawkeyes and Cyclones face off against each other, and feathers will fly.
Both teams take the field with stronger offenses and stout defenses. The Cyclones are looking to build on their 3-9 record from this past season — they won two of their final three games. The Hawkeyes are looking for redemption after a 6-6 season where they did not go to a bowl game for the first time since 2000.
Who has the advantage?
What do you think?
