By a more than 2-1 margin, those who answered this past week’s Question of the Week: Are you worried about the financial crisis? answered YES.
Thirty-one — 68.89 percent — answered YES while 14 — 31.11 percent — said NO.
The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.
This weeks’ Question of the Week deals with the first presidential debate held Friday night.
Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain faced off in the first presidential debate of Campaign 2008 at the University of Mississippi.
The financial crisis over shadowed the debate as McCain considered dropping the event to stay in Washington, D.C., to work on an agreement to stem the damage to the nation’s financial system. McCain and Obama conferred with President Bush about the situation on Thursday. Obama was committed to the debate, traveled to Mississippi and conferred with congressional leaders via telephone Friday.
On Friday morning, McCain said he would make the trip to Mississippi after all to participate in the debate.
McCain and Obama took the stage and gave their views on issues that the nation faces. Who gave the better answer? Who has the clearer vision for what’s good for America’s future?
What do you think?
This week’s Question of the Week: Who won the first presidential debate? McCain or Obama.
People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
