By DUANE NOLLEN The Oskaloosa Herald OSKALOOSA — Almost everyone who answered this past week’s Question of the Week: Do we need to relaunch Brand USA? Answered YES. Twenty-five — 83.33 percent — said YES while five — 16.67 percent — answered NO. The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them. This week’s Question of the Week deals with the Iowa Hawkeyes’ stunning last-second defeat of Penn State Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. Before the game, the ABC commentators made a flippant prediction that Penn State would win by 45 points. I’m sure they had to eat their crow frozen after the game as Hawkeye place kicker Daniel Murray booted the winning 31-yard field goal leaving one second on the game clock. It was Iowa’s first victory over a Top 5 team since 1990, and it made the Hawkeyes bowl eligible with two games left in the season. Iowa’s next opponent is Purdue, which is in the Big Ten basement at 3-7. The Hawkeyes play them at home next Saturday. Then, the Hawkeyes finish the season on the road at Minnesota, which is 7-3 and who got thrashed by Michigan 29-6 Saturday. The Hawkeyes could finish with an 8-4 record, a surprising ending for the Hawkeyes, who at one point were at 3-3. Will the Hawkeyes finish the season strong? What do you think?
