Published August 15, 2008 09:16 am - MCCB hunter education class Aug. 23 The Mahaska County Conservation Board will be sponsoring a Hunter Education class to be held Saturday Aug. 23, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mahaska County Conservation Center, located at the Russell Wildlife Area. Participants must pick up a student manual to be completed prior to the start of the class. This course is free of charge, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. Anyone born after January 1st, 1971 must attend a Hunter Education course before they are allowed to purchase and Iowa hunting license. Any person who is 12 years old or older is eligible to attend the class. To pre-register and receive course material, sign up at the County Recorder’s Office in the Courthouse or by telephone at (641) 673-8187.
