Dickinson, VanDusseldorp set school records for Osky at state track meet

Oskaloosa’s Sara Dickinson set her second school record in as many races and Trisha VanDusseldorp ran to two other school records at the state track meet Friday and Saturday.
Dickinson, who was second in the 3,000-meter run while setting a school record in the process, eclipsed the school record in the 1,500 as she ran 4:48.53 to come in seventh overall.
VanDusseldorp placed fourth in the 400 hurdles in the new school-record time of 1:03.98. She also came in sixth in the 800 in a school-record time of 2:13.09.
The distance medley relay team of Lauren Williams, Allison Rohloff, Courtney Converse and Trisha VanDusseldorp placed ninth in a time of 4:17.40.
Pella’s Brooke Gritters won the shot put with an effort of 44 feet, 1 inch as she missed her own state record by a little more than one foot.
Eddyville-Blakesburg’s Jacob Batterson was runner-up in the 100-high hurdles as he ran 14.89.
Pella’s Maddy Davis was third in the 800 and seventh in the 1,500 while also running on the distance medley and the 4x400 relays to a third and fifth-place finishes respectively.
Eddyville-Blakesburg’s Zach Baker came seventh in the 1,600 run as Twin Cedars’ Lindsay Hoehns placed eighth in the high jump. The Rockets’ Arielle Brown was eighth in the 800 and 13th in the 1,500.
