Published September 05, 2008 10:14 am - Mitch Tucker fired a 4-over 76 to lead Oskaloosa to a ninth-place finish at a tournament in Ankeny. Indian golfers compete at Ankeny ANKENY — The Oskaloosa boys golf team competed in a tournament Thursday at the Briarwood Golf Course in Ankeny.
The team shot a 342 with Mitch Tucker leading the way with a 4-over 76 and a ninth place-finish earning his first medal in a Class 4A tournament. Next in line was Tyler Smith shooting an 82, Alex Heaton with a 87 and a pair of 99s by freshman Ben Roberts and junior Gibb Whitlatch. The final score was put up by a newcomer to the golf team Alex Knoot, who shot a 109. The team next will compete on Tuesday in Newton with varsity and junior varsity tournament.
